When I first saw the MSU unis, they looked anything but throwback. The emphasis of black and gold (not traditional MSU colors) looks more like the modern abominations we have seen. While I am writing this the announcer stated that they are Nike Pro-Combat Rivalry uniforms. I checked out the below link that has old college football helmets and going back to 1947, there were no gold MSU helemts.

I gouged my eyes out watching this game. Michigan looked like their shoulder pads were painted speedbumps. Mich St's helmets were pretty cool but the rest of the uniforms didn't match and looked horrific.
I liked Michigan's. Michigan State's had that trademark euro-trash-garbage-completely-unrecognizable-from-the-original-classic-uniform look Nike has mastered over the years.I guess I'm just a traditionalist, but I would rather see more of the retro look than the foolishness on display at Maryland and Oregon.
