LSU Opening Game Cancelled by Weather

Andre Williams cannot tie Fornette's shoes ... plus it helped Williams got hurt early. They are on two different levels.
ill take my chancesa with shafer and bullough to keep him to a reasonable amount

Per SI's preview edition, "After an impressive, if inconsistent freshman season- six games with 52 yards or less rushing and five games of m more than 100, Leonard Fournette will be one of the nation's most exciting players." Let's hope our game is one of the under 52 games.

Competition for a primetime game (assuming we win and LSU wins this week) will be USC@Arizona State, UCLA@Arizona, and Georgia Tech@Duke

most likely one of those pac 12 games will end up on fox with other going to espn/abc. GT/Duke is competition but think LSU would get the nod currently

Have you even watched Fournette? We are comparing a senior in Andre Williams to him ... a kid now entering his soph season. Did you see what he did to ND or Ole Miss? Kid was only a frosh last season ... now that he has spent a year in the system ... look out.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to post some video...these two videos represent every time he touched the ball against ND and Texas A&M, the last two games of the season.

I like this type of video much better than highlights because it gives a better picture of the bad plays and the good.

Look - we'll show our respect for him as fans. And coach will talk about how great he is. But we've not had a bad game against a stud RB under Shafer. I'd plan on having a back up plan that involves throwing the ball a lot.

Then there was Connor of Pitt last year. He's a 'beast', too.

Yeah and their backup ripped off 122 yards on the ground ... look what Ollison has done. Fundamentally the point is Fournette is far better than Williams or Connor ... hell he is probably the best RB Shafer will have faced in his Orange tenure. Fournette had more yards than the entire SU squad against ND in half the carries. LSU has a very good OL ... to say handling him will happen because we handled Williams or Connor is shortsighted.

I'm confident that they are great. And confident that we haven't had someone run on us like that since Shafer took over. It may be that he runs us over - but until it happens, I trust in Shafer.

And no offense to Fournette - but he hasn't had the career that Williams has had yet. I expect him to - but he's not yet. Hyped? Yes. Talented. Yep. Better pro potential? Yes. But that's all future tense stuff.

Nothing there I didn't expect. He's a big strong dude who can knock you over and has enough speed to take it the distance. Not much wiggle but may not need it at this level. I'm not sure he's any better than Fredericks will be for us someday. The difference is, he's got better linemen in front of him than we could supply. I could see us doing a good job on Fournette much of the game but getting worn down and then he breaks one or two in the fourth quarter and had a big game because of it.

Something like this:
