in the fourth quarter. I watched his body language after the play, and he handled it like a champ. And he had so much on the line- his team is undefeated, they had a 15 game winning streak, they are number 5 in the BCS playing for a chance to go to the title game, and he's in the run for the Heisman Trophy.
Luck smacked his helmet with each hand simultaneously on each side, and then he walked off the field and took responsibility for the play. He stood on the sideline with his teammates and looked them in the eyes when he pointed to himself. He never looked angry. He never hung his head. He looked ready to take his next snap, and waited patiently for the opportunity to go back out and do it. And do it he did as he drove the team down the field for a TD to tie the game with about 1 minute left on the clock.
Luck has unbelievable physical tools and a great offensive line, which is a big part of his success. But he showed me last night that he definitely has the mental and emotional tools too. He's a great leader to boot.
