Unfortunately for the vast majority of players who transfer out of here, that is not the case. But Fennell does have the skill set to be a solid contributor somewhere if he gets stronger. He needs to pick the right program.

Yes, I think he can do well in the right situation and see significant time. Next season at SU was probably not going to offer that.

The last 3 years were a disaster, my guess is we don’t know the extent of how bad it was. Unfortunately this kid was a casualty of one of the worst coaching staffs of all time.

Mind numbing. I mean Zephyr would make 2 good plays and 10 useless ones or do nothing and play 5-7 mins and Fennell comes in and does nothing wrong and is pulled after 1 or 2 mins and never put back in. In all the weird rotation moves Red made it was the weirdest dynamic how he handled Zephyr and Luke. Even weirder with how he handled the backcourt minutes last year.

He was completely mismanaged. And I give him credit. He was an incredible teammate and bench supporter. He def got a raw deal

Maybe so...
But he didn't seem to have the quickness needed at the ACC level.
Hope he can find a place where he can be successful.

I don't know if he could have been a contributor this past season. But I do know that Autry was not capable of being the person who decided that.

Hope he finds a better situation and enjoys playing basketball there.

What I find most disappointing about it is that Fennell didn't seem like a flyer.

Even with his athletic limitations, he excelled in international competition. He'd demonstrated against high quality competition that he was a plus shooter.

Big year 1 contributor? Maybe not, but a solid prospect to roll the dice on.

I also know that he didn't play that great in the limited opportunities he got early in the season -- I assume that's part of the reason Red parked him on the bench. But a foreign shooter with size / position versatility is EXACTLY what most programs are looking for, and exactly why we got excited about 3M yesterday.
