Has anyone ever seen a map depicting the geographic distribution of SU alumni?

I know they have one for Maxwell alums. Not sure about the entire University though.

Okay, I got it facing the right way. It's smaller, and harder to read, though. If you right click and hit "view image" it makes it a little larger.

Good stuff. Thanks.

Interesting that Virgin Island with 69 has more than North Dakota 44. I wonder how many in VI are transplants from the mainland?

What's interesting is that map says there are 75,000 alums in all of New York State. In the press release announcing the Yankees Stadium signage, the NYC alumni association said there are 45,000 alums in NYC. That would mean there are 50% more alums in NYC than there are in all of Upstate NY. That's actually not terribly shocking, but it's interesting to see the actual numbers. It's also entirely possible that alumni in certain parts of Northern NJ are being counted in the NYC #, but the Jersey total (13,000) is actually a lot lower than I would have expected.

Considering SU's reputation for winter weather, there seem like a disproportionately large number of Floridians.

Has to be retirees that account for this. Can't be alumni who originated from Florida.

I thought the same thing re: New Jersey. Something isn't right there.

FWIW: I believe that 45k number is the NYC Metro Area and not necessarily NYC proper. Can't remember for certain, but I always thought that included northern NJ, as well.

I was surprised at the almost 13,000 alums in California.

I know about 25 personally living out there. LA could be 2nd most popular city for young alums.

Plus realtor star josh Altman.

Think he'll send a couple million our way? Could be good to get his former team some help so they can build him future clients

If my numbers are correct,

SU Alumni is Big10 States: 19,885

SU Alumni in ACC States: 53,770 (And that does not include DC or Jersey)

That's a 2.7 to 1.0 ratio.

The University is pushing California hard. They have a huge presence in LA, Newhouse especially, and they're currently doing a lot of work in the Bay Area to attract students.
