Thought I would reminisce about 5 great moments in March from my many years
( the sadness meaning memories are all we have )

1. Jim Lee and Jimmy Williams ams make improbable run to the final four.
2. DC and company take down the Tar Heels to get to FF.
3. 96 upset the Jayhawks and the ensuing Al Maguire dance.
4. Hakim Block, then euphoria .
5. Big comeback to shock UVa.
Did this quickly without much thought , many other moments could have made it.

I'm just too depressed to think about great moments in cuse history. We have fallen so far.

That gave me the warms. Like soup.

At this moment the saddest thing to me is how Joe Lunardi got his spot on TV and says that UNC just lost their spot in theTourney because of a lane violation.
So I guess quality of play means nothing...
The only thing that matters apparently is blablabla whatever...whatever proves their choices were the right ones of the moment.
Watching this guy continue to speak and bewilder the analysts with his stupid thoughts and go on and on is sad to me. He is a joke and...?
Do a good amount of fans really appreciate his "insights?"

For the fourth year in a row, depression about SYR basketball sets in. It hurts not being in the tourney, it's a feeling of such insignificance, all the talk about the tourney everywhere and we are not included. Even all the mediocre years since 2015 when we were on the bubble was at least something. The last 4 years we didn’t even have that. Oh well, there is hockey, lacrosse and baseball to pay attention. I will follow the NCAAT and root for all the low and midmajors to pull upsets. That's my extent of the interest in it. A huge empty feeling.

To be fair, 1-13 vs. Q1 teams is a real anchor for tourney consideration and it should be.

It's not about just the lane violation, but the body of work (and yes, they needed that game.)

Lunardi is one the worst bracket predictors out there. He just happened to be on TV and ESPN first.

#2 will always be ingrained in me. I was in college at the time, and all you heard Vitale yap about was how Dwayne Schintzius was going to eat Rony for lunch in the Regional Semi. Then Vitale doubled down on the same schtick about J.R. Reid (a frosh) in the Regional Finals doing the same. WRONG!

Of course, 9 days later, heartbreak, where the pain inside still lingers after all these years.

It sucks right now but It’s going to be back. Don’t get caught up in the doomed forever world of this board. It WILL be back.

'96 last second shot to put the Georgia game into OT and then another last second shot in OT to win it.
i watched this at a bar (same one we got kicked out a week earlier for the Tyson fight).
Met some people who I'm still friends with today.

absolutely! Cipolla in regulation and JW in OT. Amazing game !!
I could not remember Cipolla's name for the life of me. I can see every aspect of the play in my mind: the pass, the shot as he faded away, him sliding in his butt as it goes in, but I couldn't remember his name, and was too lazy to look it up.

Best tourney losses:

1.) 96 Kentucky title game. The kids were fantastic vs. an all-time team. We were one good player short.

2.) Cuse Arkansas 95. Yeah, it was a bonehead mistake but they were a great team and we played so well. We deserved the W here.

I remember Rony said in an interview that what he said really fired him up. His teammates said he was literally running up and down the corridor expressing his outrage and how Schintzius was not gonna foul him out.
Oh the memories.

The butt slide was a moment that has always stuck with me.

What a horrible horrible painful way for Moten to end a wonderful SU career.

I watched both of these live.
Moten originally didn’t get blamed.

You are right, technically he was too. Just how&what he said was just too outrageous for me.
Cut the bullshit and use common sense. Quit reducing the College Basketball game to a damn soap opera or scripted reality tv show.
It is way more than that, yet Im thinking it is becoming more and more like those things.
I guess thats my issue, media pushing the decline of a classic game just so they get attention and clicks.
He implied the lane violation is the main reason UNC is out. They did prove they can play with anyone. I realize who Duke didn't have, maybe won't have. I now realize my rebuttal is not very strong 'lol' but...
Bottom line : The over sensationalism makes me sick.
