No, the X-factor is can Nassib hit Kobena or Hale down the field for big plays.

No matter if Kobena or Hale can get open. Can Nassib improve from abysmal to just below average on deep balls. If he can at least throw the ball inbounds and allow his received to make a play, we could be really good next year IMO.
Best post in the entire thread spot on if Nassib can't hit the big play ball it really doesn't matter

I'm disappointed that this glorious backhanded compliment hasn't gotten more attention.

Well nobody will ever confuse Mr Sales with Jerry Rice when it comes to off season workouts...

I think people are forgetting that outside the pinstripe bowl Sales was a non factor two years ago. I am not sure how much of a difference he would have made last year maybe one additional win but not 2-3.
I saw him catch a TD in Tampa 2 years ago. Does that count?

Where did I say anything about him not getting better or developing? And what does developing the coaches trust have anything to do with winning games? Are we reading the same post?

Do you guys think that he would have been the difference to get us to a bowl game? Personally, I believe he could have been the game changer that would have made us serious conference championship contenders.

Considering we were only a play or two away from making a bowl game, I'd say the answer to the question is safely yes. Especially if that play happened in the Rutgers or UConn games.

Anyone who watched Dorian Graham running slant patterns and, at times, struggling to catch the ball, should have no problem understanding that Sales would have been, at minimum, a significant factor at WR last year. Does that get us to a bowl game? It couldn't have hurt. I don't think anyone should be suggesting that we're getting, in Sales, a guy that is going to catch 80 balls for 1,000+ yards and double-figure TDs. But he should help in a meaningful way.

So what does that have to do with developing trust with the coaching staff and or improving? Were talking about a possession receiver with average speed at best who on a team that desperately needed offensive weapons was benched most of the year. I dont think its a stretch to say he wasnt going to have a Mike Williams type affect on the season. The Rutgers game OK yes I agree but I dont see us suddenly beating South Florida, Cincy, or Uconn with Sales in the fold. Again I would much rather have had him last year then not but people here saying 2-3 game difference are nuts.

If we beat Rutgers last year we would have went to a bowl. The rest of it is just chump change; that sixth win is all that mattered.
