after all this young talent matures. This team is stacked at the skill positions and all the freshmen D-line players played above the years.

That walk on running back is a game changing jitterbug who better see the field this year as the D couldn't see the kid when he started moving. Also Jordan Fredericks has some nice speed and looks and plays bigger than he is.

Dungey throws the best looking ball out on the team right now. He just needs time to settle in the pocket to go through his progressions faster.

Did Dungey get to show any running or elusiveness?

It is very clear how much the talent level has improved since HCSS came in. Recruiting rankings may have gone up modestly but it is clear that the 2014 and 2015 kids are the best athletes we have brought in over the last 15 years. Oh yeah, RW, Moe, Rex, Scoop etc are coming next year

I agree that the ACC will be saying "wuuut", but I would not be surprised if that starts this season. Good news and thanks for the early assessments.

Great news to hear and it's encouraging to know that the program is on a positive trajectory.

I've maintained since last year's historically bad offensive debacle that HCSS's future at SU will be tied to what he does at OC, his decision to stick with Lester was risky, and that it would all come down to whether or not Lester had the chops to be an OC. Would his system be good enough?

Very encouraged by what we're hearing out of preseason camp thus far. I have a feeling we'll be this year's NC State [in the sense that we'll beat some peer programs and qualify for bowl eligibility]. I could honestly see us winning 7 [or maybe even 8] games, even with the backloaded second half of the schedule IF:
  • Hunt has a big senior year
  • The OL returns to quality form after experiencing so many injuries
  • Estime / Ishmael step up
  • Our RB duo of MacFarlane / Morris are durable and dependable
  • Erv becomes a weapon that opposing DC's have to game plan for, opening things up for other players
  • Morgan / Whigham provide senior stability in the secondary
  • We avoid injuries at DL
If those things happen [and I recognize that there are several question marks in there], this team could very well surprise. I believe that they can get to 6 wins. If a few things fall into place, they could exceed that despite the pessimistic prognostications from the so-called media experts.

Let's Go Orange!!!

I have same feelings for sure. I think that there are 3 games that divine intervention would be needed to win (LSU, FSU, Clemson). There is one game that would need CLOSE TO divine intervention to win (at Louisville) There are two games that would require CLOSE to divine intervention to lose (URI and Central Michigan). There are two game that if you want to change your perception and your results you HAVE TO win (at USF and Wake at home). There are four games that if you don't shoot yourselves in the foot you SHOULD have a chance to win at the end of the game (PITT at home, at UVA, at NC ST, BC at home). I think that if we have a horribly unlucky year they win 3-4 games, if some balls bounce our way and some bounce to the opponent they win 5-6 game, and if EVERYTHING bounces the Orange's way you are looking at 7-8. For the record I feel LUCKY

How did slayton/ealey/thomas and bennet look??
Slayton looked great and was destroying the o-line all day. Bennet will take over the crazy blitz's our LB'S are recruited to do and should get a bunch this year. The D.E. is a big boy and got some pressure and Thomas ? Didn't notice much as I wasn't focused on him

Slayton will be great i know it!

When I went to practice this Spring I was watching DT's. I saw #95 doing crazy things in the drills and saw how BIG he was. I asked somebody who is that, I wasn't expecting Slayton to be with the DT's, instantly impressed.

VERY bright future IMO.
