This game has shootout written all over it. I believe we are on of the worst in the country allowing plays of 40+ yards and Pitt has the skill guys to capitalize. On the other end our offense will score against anyone and Pitt hasn’t exactly been great defensively. I would look for us to try and control the ball like we did vs UNLV snapping the ball at the end of the play clock.

Win this game and then we’re really cooking.

As consistent and efficient as our passing O has been, it doesn't really have quick-strike capability. Receivers don't force the safeties to play super deep, and they don't really make guys miss. The D, unfortunately, is exactly what you want to play against if you're an O coordinator. Bend-but-don't break, except it does break in wildly spectacular fashion a few times a game.

Our formula has been ball control as you mention. We have to execute perfectly to play keep away this game. And we must score at the end of drives. We can’t possess the ball for long drives and come away empty. This is where specials really can kill you. It’s hard to win P4 football without a kicking game. Sure, I want 7 every time, but tacking on at least 3 every time we’re in scoring position is vital.

They are going to put tremendous pressure on McCord. I hope we can convert to keep drives alive, eat the clock, and come away with a W. If anyone isn’t concerned about our O Line this game, they should be.

Can we beat Pitt? Absolutely, but our best defense is going to be our offense. Hope we’re up for the task. A win would position us well for a nicer bowl.

From this Fran Brown interview below it sounds like Wax is not playing this week and may play the following week against VT. Fran seems like he is trying to stay positive and hopeful on that but that even seems somewhat questionable to me depending on how he feels at that time. It seems like its possible depending on that on weather he shuts it down for the year. That doesn't sound like it is out of the equation yet. Discussion about Wax starts at the 4:10 mark.
