Apparently Buffalo was no more dreamy than Syracuse.
According to this, even though he's leaving, he's still getting his $4M for 2015.

Really nice job, Doug

Reports are he asked for an extension for himself and his staff, and was refused. Hard to blame him for that. Now Western NY knows what SU fans felt like 2 years ago. This guy will soon have a bad label as a coach among NFL owners, if he doesn't already. Nick Saban has jumped from one spot to another, but he at least won at one level. This guy is exceptionally mediocre.
Seriously, if I ever saw this type of behavior in business, I wouldn't even interview this guy, much less actually hire him. At some point, loyalty and your word does matter.
That's weird that he can opt out And walk off with $4M.Maybe Dougie could use some of that $4M to buyout the contracts of his Asst Coaches?

How about get into the playoffs before you start making demands? The guy is in the results business and by some standards has done nothing. Both teams he ran made improvements, but one could argue he had nowhere else to go but up.
I question his ability to actually lead at team into success.
I understand he wanted an extension, but owners/GMs will only blame him for this pattern that is developing. Every stop so far seems to have an excuse. It will catch up to him pretty soon.
It pays to be smart….or hire smart people! No one was talking about this when he signed his deal. Now he is a "Free agent" at a time when several good NFL jobs are available. Doug …knows how to promote Doug….can't fault him for that….Man, Saint Doug got some seriously good advice somewhere along the line! His agent? Maybe his wife is an expert in contractural law?
Good for you, Doug!
Don't hate Doug because he is smart. He used the leverage in his contract, which was great pro-active thinking by his agent, to create a situation that works beset for HIM! The Bills did not show signs of committing to him…now he can leave without any penalty, on his own terms, and pick another NFL job with a better chance to be successful long term. Would not surprise me..if he is the next Falcons Coach! Now Western NY knows what SU fans felt like 2 years ago. This guy will soon have a bad label as a coach among NFL owners, if he doesn't already. It's a smart move, not just for the money. If he's not the owner and GM's guy the clock is ticking anyway. Why not get out now when good HC jobs are open instead of waiting around to get fired?According to this, even though he's leaving, he's still getting his $4M for 2015.

Works out for everyone. Nothing pegula could do about the four mil. Marrone asked for the extension to find out if pegula liked him. He got his answer. Brandon the snake oil salesman is so dumb. I'm so glad his power is dwindlingOttoinGrotto said:It's a smart move, not just for the money. If he's not the owner and GM's guy the clock is ticking anyway.
