As a die hard Bills fan, I wasn't as down on Marrone as many others were, however I still wasn't sold. Yeah, we won 9 games and had some pretty impressive wins (at Detroit, GB), however Marrone also cost this team a shot at the playoffs by habitually punting on 4th and short situations late in games. The offense, and more specifically the O-line quickly regressed under Marrone, and his thin skin also kept some pretty good, young players off of the field while they were in his dog house (Robert Woods early, Mike Williams was handled like a disaster, Ej Manuels very short leash, Urbik being demoted for no reason and replaced with far inferior players). He had issues for sure. I don't think this move hurts the Bills too much to be honest. This team won this season because of the defense. Marrone did not have a hand in that as much as Jim Schwartz did in taking that unit to a new level from last season. As for Marrone, I think this speaks volumes about the guys character. he has now quit on two separate programs now because he did not get what he wanted. First, he left 'Cuse because he did not get the facilities that he demanded (according to rumors) and now he leaves the Bills because he got stiff armed and rejected when trying to make a power play on a new owner. I say good for Pegula here! Who wants a guy that's going to quit every time he doesn't get what he wants?
