First of all, Doug Marrone is a very, very good football coach. Those denying it in this thread are most likely die hard Bills fans deflecting some of their displeasure with the way he left. Doug Marrone is also a bit of a dikhead who isn't easy to like. That probably also contributes to some of the disconnect between his coaching ability and certain posters perception of his coaching ability. First of all, a sample size of 2 years in the NFL is pretty darn insignificant. To the poster who claimed he wasn't as good as Bilichick so therefore he stinks. Bilichick went 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5, and 5-11 his years in Cleveland. He went 5-11 his first year in New England. Suddenly Tom Brady shows us and he's a genius. Bill Walsh was 2-14 and 6-10 his first 2 years at San Fran. Joe Montanta became Joe Montana and that was it. Bill Parcells was 3-8 in his only year coaching collegiate football. He took over a Giants team that was 9-7 and 4-5 (strike) the year before he got there. You know what his record was in year 1? He won 3 freaking games. Now, is Doug going to be a Parcells or Bilichik, etc? I have no idea, nor am I insinuating that. I am intrigued to see what he can do with competent quarterback play.
