Maryland Gameday...

I am not a big lacrosse guy. Let’s start there. This post comes from the perspective of a casual fan.

I see this game as a very clear matchup.

Good vs evil.

Maryland has a terrific program. Their coach Tillman is from upstate NY but there was something wrong with him early on and he become a boring defensive minded drone. Maybe it was the lead in his fillings? More study is required.

Anyway, he has taught his boring, worthless, lame and pathetic, yet effective style to the Terps. And they have been hard at work making the sport of lacrosse as unwatchable as possible since then. Even the biggest Terp fan will admit watching Terp lacrosse causes constipation and lowers one’s IQ. This cannot be disputed.

And then you have Syracuse. They are the antithesis of the boring, plodding and smelly Terps.

They embody everything that is great about the sport. Great skill, imagination and joy.

I see this game as determining the future of the sport.

If Maryland wins, lacrosse fans will stop going to games and watching on tv. The sport will suffer great damage and many lax fans will look elsewhere for quality entertainment.

If Syracuse wins, lacrosse will start a great ascension that will make it the most popular sport in the world.

Yes, this game is for far more than a spot in the NC game on Monday.

I believe Syracuse will win because they have the style and talent to make it happen. And that the crowd will push them to victory.

Lastly, The Creator wants Syracuse to win. And what The Creator wants, The Creator gets.*

I read recently of a study that was done about turtles crossing the road. The impetus of the study was the desire to have more turtles cross roads safely.

What they found is that 6% of drivers will actually swerve to hit a turtle crossing a road.

I don’t know if this has any relevance to today’s game. But apparently people don’t like turtles.

I agree. But I think it'll be close, and you never know what can turn a close game. I'm just excited to have this weekend be what it used to be and should be.

Think syracuse has to come out hott. Get up fast n keep scoring. Mullen also has to be above 55% n same with mccool. Defense can’t slide all nilly willy n if when do slide with speed and power. Gosh how much we all would love to take this game. Not just cause it means playing in title, but just to beat maryland n tillman n finally put rest of them owning us.

Come on orange come out hott strong fast smart. Need to hustle on every single play for every single ball. This is it leave it all out on the field. Hold nothing back n let’s go!

And neither the Orange of old nor Cavs of old could be called boring. Tillman's UM teams are a cure for insomnia.

I truly hope SU gets out to a fast early least and steamrolls the Terps. No cardiac 'cuse,just good old fashioned Haudenasaunee offense, lightning fast and unforgiving. Force Tillman out of his element.

With everything I’ve read & know about him, I feel John Mullen is going to thrive on a rainy field in MA. It seems like a realm he’s built for.
