Maybe we played better defense on Garza than we realized.

Living in B1G country I saw Iowa play several times last year and was very impressed with Garza. He’s a beast and very talented. Iowa plays bad defense and unfortunately we weren’t able to take advantage of that.

Michigan's scoring balance reminds me of the late '80's for us when we would regularly have 4-5 guys in double figures and our leading scorer averaged around 18 per game.

...holding him to just 23 points.

He's a tough guy to stop.

When you slap around your opponent in so many ways like Iowa did to us in the second half, he scored as many points as he felt like to win comfortably.

Agree. I'm not sure it was a matter of us "holding" him. On another note, Michigan seemed to have no trouble at all scoring against that vaunted Fran McCaffery defense.

I didn’t watch the game but that type of score is why I like watching Iowa play.
They play fast and ole defense.
McCaffrey’s teams play defense like D’Antoni NBA teams.

In the battle of zero resistance and slow tempo though the slow tempo won.
