Mballa

He was a 82 rated low 3 star out of Jax Fl with offers from TT and Umass, played in 17 games there spot minutes with a high of 3 points. Transferred to buffalo and didn’t even have a transfer rating iirc

How good would we be if this guy was our center? We need to get a kid like that. What's he doing at Buffalo?

He scored 8 on 2-7 shooting against Miami of Ohio.

and? I don’t care what defense we play. He demonstrated skill, strength, and athleticism. He is a damn good player.

dolezaj is a good player...maybe not a championship-caliber starter...but he SUXKS defensively as a a center.TRULY.

I feel for him. he is playing the way he needs to stay in the game and not foul out...which is NECESSARY.

but he just does nothing to stop an opponent in there.

the whole arms straight in the air thing might work once in a while if opponents didnt know it was coming...but at this point it has been telegraphed.

opposing bigs know that su bigs are not trying to block or truly oppose anything they do. they rellax and swish. or lay it in uncontested. its not a sustainable strategy for wins defensively.

in fairness, ncaa refs call it way too tight on marek generally so he is in a tough spot as a skinny player who must be physical to compete...

again, i like marek. good player. but HORRIBLE as the center in the zone in my opinion.

Just way too easy for teams to get EASY buckets all game long.

He was very good tonight but he’s not a center and he wouldn’t play over Dolenzaj nor Guerrier - he’s a more inconsistent version of our own Quincy Guerrier. He’s
just 6’7.

Dude looked like Tim Duncan out there. He absolutely destroyed us in the paint. How did he end up at Buffalo?
He played for Texas Tech and Chris Beard the year they lost to Virginia in the title game?? Wow. wonder how he wound up at Buffalo.

They said tonight was the most minutes he’s played all season and that was before OT. It’s his 2nd year at Buffalo. He hardly played at all at Texas Tech.
People forget that mid majors get juiced up to play Cuse. He and Williams looked great tonight. Like you and others said, he hasn't done it consistently in his career.

I would die to have him on our team. But we would never recruit him. Ever. Hes too much like Arinze. We don't recruit guys like Arinze or Otis Hill anymore. But there is still hope because for years we didn't recruit guys like Erich Santifer (6'5 forwards) that could handle the ball and get into the lane. But 2 years in a row...
Hughes and now Griff. So maybe we can start looking at the Garzas of the world again. Instead of projects. You know a center that can catch a pass and score.

He looks older than Greg Oden or the dude from Georgetown that spent 10 years in the Army.
Oden looked 50 when he was 18. Greg Oden.jpg

WOW, how good of an option would he be in Sidibes absence??
Size, strength, can run the floor, start the break.

Glad JBA got on the floor, ssadly no impact, but we have all these options to play over Marek yet they mostly just rot on the bench.
