McCann is a good deal for the Yankees

A left handed power catcher should boost the offense a bit.If Romine shows more with the bat they could have a decent tandem behind the plate. If not Romine maybe Sanchez gets an opportunity and J-R of course. Now they need to scope out a third base possibility in the hope that A-Hole loses his bid for reinstatement. Cano is the prime target now. Maybe Granderson can be resigned.Wells is not the answer as another outfielder . He looks tired and I believe the team needs additional speed out there and the base-paths.

If they spend big money on an outfielder, like it appears they are trying to do, then it may turn out that they don't budge on the Cano offer. Otherwise, I don't see how they're going to stay under the luxury tax threshold. They still need another starter or two, too. If Cano gets a better offer, they may let him go.

So yesterday I'm driving listening to sports radio and I hear about an absurd contract, how they were bidding against themselves, how the deal doesn't make sense short or long term and I'm thinking, "Welp, Yanks must have resigned Cano."

Then I find out it's the Kobe deal.

This is the life of a Yankees fan.

What's the big deal with Beltran. I thought he was old.

Very good vs Lefties which recently the Yankees have sucked against. Clutch player and will only want 3 yrs or so

cali will want McCann traded before tax day
His no-trade clause will probably keep that from happening unless it's back to the Braves (with the Yankees picking up most of his $alary).

Just some totally irrelevant tidbits. McCann's father and mother are from Oswego, NY. I worked with his aunt and heard about him while he was in college. His dad was also a baseball player - was drafted and played in Auburn. He later became a coach for Marshall University and then opened a baseball academy around Atlanta. Brian was groomed to be a baseball player and has a brother who also played. Just some useless info:rolleyes:
