McCord

A lot of guys announced their departure this week, why not McCord? Logically I would think it's because he is still on the fence, which is what he has said publicly and some insiders have shared here as well.

I still don't think he's decided yet. I think there is a high chance he returns because I think they will win the appeal.
We have 4 pages to go.

So before you were pessimistic about the appeal being in the ballpark of something that could actually work, and now you think it will but just think Kyle will choose the draft? That seems like a pretty big shift, even for the guy that ruins everything!
People that know more than me are saying it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I always thought he'd be silly to come back over the NFL, especially when it seemed stonewall that his appeal would be denied.

I agree with everything you said. The only caveat. If he does get a round 3-5 draft grade. It’s plausible he could decide to play for a big NIL payday if it’s there. Then collect the NFL money next year.

Well I don’t think this is likely, and I agree it’s a very weak QB draft class and he said go now. Their have been fringe players that have opted to stay and get a big NIL payday instead of going to the NFL. Last year there was only 58 early entrants into the NFL draft, lowest since 2011.

There's no precedent for appealing your way back in after declaring for the draft and not getting taken, so that's a wait and see what happens.

The examples of BB or LAX guys I can think of (like 3) getting drafted were seniors in their own sports, so would fit the out-of-eligibility rule.

International players have to apply for the draft, and they their own draft criteria because every country has their own education structure.
Correct me if I’m wrong but there is a precedent. Maurice Claurett and Mike Williams were denied years ago. Clarett tried to enter the draft after his sophomore year. Mike Williams joined him. Initially approved I believe and then was denied. They both had agents and were not allowed back into college.

Why hasn't he done that yet though, why is he waiting?

Syracuse's Mike Williams? Hard to keep track of the various Mike Williams plural over the years. He was suspended in 08, quit the team in 09, and was drafted in April 2010. No memory of him trying to go to the draft earlier.

Clarett was suspended for the 2003 season and had red flags all over him, including allegations of severe academic misconduct. Plus, he would have had to have sat for a year if he had wanted transfer in that era. Trying for the 2004 draft was really his only choice.

No, USC WR. Went 9th or so in the draft to the Lions I think?

Kyle going to Cleveland and being the savior of an Ohio NFL team is hysterical.
Hah I know. I feel like if he thinks he has a real shot of being a QB1 in the league he goes. He stays if everyone is telling him well let's get you to camp or play the backup game then figure he gives it another year.

Kickiest kick in the nards would be an all clear for Kyle then an extended delay on his decision.

I think he wins either way..

Idk, I'd also go if I was QB2 in a place like the LA Rams, Detroit, or Tampa, scenarios where you're an injury away/the current guy might not be around much longer at their age.

Personal take:

1. Kyle Goes to the NFL if he is getting NFL feedback that he is in serious contention to compete for a QB1 job. Not saying he's drafted to be the guy but are there teams out there that are even considering him as the guy

2. Kyle Stays if he gets the waiver AND the NFL feedback he is getting is that he is not a serious contender for a starting QB1 position.

I do not think the money difference matters to him as with both gigs he's going to be well paid.

I also think that he does not want to be some practice squad guy or a QB2 that is just being picked up late in the draft to sit behind a starter that's not going anywhere. That option would be there for him in 2026 wort case anyway.

Now who on this board has access to NFL Scouts. I think that's what we'll be waiting on.

Everything you said is perfectly reasonable. What I'm wondering is, wouldn't Kyle already have this feedback by now? Our OC alone must be highly connected to the league still.

David the nature of your repeated questions seems like you're trying to will an outcome here my man. Just sit back and let it happen. McCord and his advisers are collecting all the information they can so a fully informed decision can be made. It will happen soon enough. Just roll with it.

Gotta imagine The draft status and ranking thing is somewhat fluid, with different feedback at different times of the season. If it’s still a question and not a simple cut and dry decision to go to the NFL, that bodes well for us.

We're trying to get to 100 pages. We need everyone to post everything.
