Mcdonald and Chuck lost this game early on

The one that really hurt was the drop by Broyld on the first series. He had NOT ONE defender in front of him. He catches that ball, and it's a quick run for six. We have momentum, and things are looking good. To not score a TD on that first drive was a sin.

Since I was at the game, what the hell happened on the pick six? From my view the WR ran the wrong route and confused Hunt. Looked like he was going to play short and then went long. By the time he turned, the UMD defender was heading the other way. Was that Hunt's fault or the WR?

It was Flemming. He ran about 5 yards or so, turned around and put his hands up, then quickly turned and ran a route towards the end zone. Hunt saw him when he turned and threw the ball, by the time he released it Flemming was moving towards the end zone and the ball was thrown right through the spot he had previously been in straight to the defender.

Not sure who's fault it was though.

I actually feel a lot better about the season after this game than I did after the Villanova game. We played a peer level team that we had every opportunity to beat.

The pick 6 alone was a 10 to 14 pt swing. A missed 25 yard FG in the dome? We give up a 90 yard TD run when run d is our strength? 2 consecutive holding calls on first and goal? Just too much fluky and self inflicted crap to overcome.

I really don't even care that Whigham got burned on the first TD - we knew going in that it was highly unlikely that we were going to shut their receiving core out.

Hunt sailing a lot of passes, receivers dropping a number, gave them 10 points off turnovers - and we still only lost by 2 TDs.

Calling out the coordinators in a game like this is just silly.

Well, then the players should be RIPPED a new one for making the coordinators look like asses. Did any one of those guys get ripped, like FOY for two bad holding penalties? I watched the Bama - Fla game and those coaches were ripping guys for their dumb mistakes. I hope Shafe is knocking some sense into these guys in the locker room if he's not doing it on the field. We continually beat ourselves in every facet of the game. I mean, how the can Norton miss a gimme FG like that? Totally unacceptable.

It's not silly. Some strategies on both sides seemed suspect. It is what it is. TOP doesn't mean much. You have to score points. Ask Chip Kelly about TOP. Against a middle of the pack ACC team (I do think Maryland is a better team with better talent) Syracuse cannot make mistakes. If Syracuse makes mistakes against ND we'll lose by four touchdowns plus.

I have nothing to say except What. I mean really What. These games are so friggin painful to watch. 3rd game of the season and it feels like such a giant disappointment, it's hard not to compare it to the GRob years. Really. Ugh, c'mon 'cuse! We're better than that aren't we?

I have no idea how a scholarship kicker misses a 25 yard field goal in a dome. That was just the icing on the crap cake today.

hunt also said that he didn't get the full play call from the sideline

I saw Flemming holding up his hands after the pick looking at Hunt like it was Hunt's fault. To me it looked like Flemming's fault by deciding to run a rogue route.

How many drives ended due to drops or Hunt sailing passes, or Hunt turning the ball over? Hunts 2 turnovers spotted them 10 pts alone and probably took at least 3 off the board for us on the pick 6 when we were driving.. You can't pin that on McDonald. I just don't understand the thought process in focusing your criticism on an OC whose game calling netted almost 600 yards of total offense. Just makes me think there's an agenda.

Mistakes for sure. No question. I was more agreeing with the OP but my criticisms are more on the DC than the OC in this game.

Seems like he also had some checkdowns to RBs that would've gained some yardage but instead tried to force into tight coverage.

I counted at least three.

Yep. Our margin for error is virtually nil these days. We cannot afford to rack up holding penalties when we're having trouble moving the ball and scoring. We negate the good stuff we do.

My biggest criticism of Bullough was the 90 yard TD run - that just can't happen. I figured we were going to give up a big pass play TD or two so the first TD didn't really phase me. Did it still suck? Yeah. But we're not pitching a shutout against Maryland anyway.

One huge one was a play the rb swung out a and hunt never looked at him. Instead he tried to force something to estime. The pass was high and went incomplete. The rb on a simple swing pass had nothing but open field.

Another bad drop that went unnoticed was the 6 yard underneath pass to mcfarlane. The pass was at his stomach and he dropped it. Instead of first down near midfield I think it's now 3rd and 6. We punted a play later. Stuff like that kills this team.

Right! RB was wide open to Hunt's left side I believe with nothing but green pasture ahead. 2Q perhaps?

Yes, 2 drops on the first drive that ended in the FG. It's probably tough making the adjustment on throws where the one receiver, Estime, is 5 to 7 inches shorter than all the others, especially on passes over the middle.

I'm not sure Estime's height makes a difference, hunt seemed to be 3 feet high all day on crossing routes. our lack of an accurate QB will be a huge issue.

Watched the game from section 302 today and wanted to jump. Chuck comes out in press coverage leaving our corners on an Island and im screaming What. It is beyond me its like he has some macho dilusions about our talent at corner. I mean are you kidding me. Keep everything in front of us and make them earn it. Not as bad as GT but a very close second. Has to be one of the worst coaching jobs out of the box that i have seen in a very long time. As to cool kid he is like a kid with too many choices. If you watched the game it was obvious that we destroyed them up front between the tackles. We could have run the ball all day without passing and destroyed this team. 3-5 a crack between the pipes. They simply couldnt stop us. Other What moments Why take our Adonis at the goal line and replace him with PTG as a lead blocker. I mean what the hell is he thinking. The guy cant dance he lacks rythm as an OC and it shows. OK bring it on 590 yards big deal he just isnt clutch and has no feel for the game. Last point for now. Does anyone look at the clock and realize that we HAVE to go for it on fourth down with 9 minutes left. Just do the math. 3 scores. Last point Norton has to go. What a ball breaker before the half. this game we have way more talent than these guys but the coaches blew it. Hunt was so off on his passing that to not cram the ball down their throats is beyond me and lets play press against to NFL recievers. Brilliant.
we are simply very bad and cannot execute period---cant throw the ball well most ofthe time can't catch the ball well when it is thrown well, the only upside is that we ran well against a poor team
