Mcmanhons shot

Any doubt that if he misses and we get the board we run away with the game? Crowd was unreal until that shot went in and Lville looked dead in the water. Give the kid credit tho, unreal a walkon can come in cold into an ot game and hit a 25 footer in front of 25k

Give us credit too. I mean, we seemingly always allow some scab type dude have either a career night or, in this case, his first career rebound and two point basket. That studly 'and 1' scream of his had to be a first too. Kudos to our guys...

Kudos to that kid. I think we could have our walk ons in and if nobody was within 10 feet of them they would miss 9 of 10. Naturally the UL kid rips it.

As soon as Mitchell fouled out and they brought in a walk on you absolutely knew it was over. Kuric redux. Pitino makes even his scrubbiest of scrubs into world beaters somehow. If Frank Howard played for him he'd be 2nd team all ACC.

This. Not just scrubs, but anyone who has been cold lately. How many times have we heard "season(or career)high" about an opponent this season? Having a rough stretch of season/career/life? Play the Cuse...it's just what the doctor ordered!

Seriously, if the NCAA would allow it, I think Syracuse could charge folks money to play offense against them as a form of therapy, in place of yoga, etc.

First of all - the kid isn't a walkon - he has a scholarship

Second - he's a shooter and he was WIDE open. He had another 3 by the Ville bench that he was covered on and he missed it.

I agree if he missed that first 3 it would have been a different story - but the kid didn't exactly go Kyle Kuric on us

Even given how tired we were - that shot won L'Ville the game. The momentum shift of that shot was enormous. Up 3, w/ the ball and the crowd, 4 min left in OT.. We win that game.

Yes, but then the and-1 really sealed it. We should have won the game in regulation, honestly. You have the ball in a tie game with 13 seconds left at home and you have 3 80%+ FT shooters on your team, you should win that. We not only didn't even get a shot off, but we gave them the ball back with a chance to win it. Part of the problem is we got zero-point-zero respect from the refs, but either way, that last possession was a cluster.

You forgot to add, third and foremost, all 5'10" 145 lbs of him had absolutely no business being able to secure that critical rebound in the waning moments of OT, get the put back, and then add salt to the wound by screaming "and 1." Come on, really!!!:mad::mad:

So are you saying Pitino is the superior coach who knows how to coach up players?

His scream was the equivalent to the roars Larry Johnson and whomever the center for the UNLV team was would do whenever they ripped down a rebound. I'm not sure if anyone remembers what I'm talking about, but those were EPIC. This wasn't quite the same, but for his size I think it was on par, lol.

Well, unfortunately, we've seen this movie all to often. But answering, yes. Ricky probably told the kid, hey, you're not only going to hit a big 3 for us, you're going to secure your first ever rebound and ensuing 2 point basket of your career at one of the most key moments of the game. Our coach, would've just said to him, no frigging way you'll ever secure a rebound, let alone a two point basket. ;):(

I don't think it would have mattered, they would have eventually went on a run, when we didn't score when we got the ball back with 14 seconds at the end of regulation, we were in trouble.
