What, exactly are the students in line for. I thought all the tickets had been sold days ago.

Seats.

Personally, I find it silly waiting out in the cold (although Dan/blackknight did this often) just to get seats up front. Hell, I liked watching the game better from the third level.

And, from what I remember of both nova games, the atmosphere up there is unmatched.

Bet the beer line is going to be much shorter up there. Hopefully for their sake the concession stands will be open.
