Michael Carter-Williams joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history with at least 130 points and 50 assists in their first 7 career games. Robertson went on to win Rookie of the Year and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

As noted in another thread MCW had another big night last night in a 2OT loss. I would say he is in pretty good company with mr Robertson.

Couldn't be better company.
He's certainly playing at a ROY level.

I now look forward to MCW averaging a triple double for an entire season.

Kyrie vs. MCW highlights

Incredible clutch shots by MCW in this one; if you go to 1:06 he hits a stepback 3 with Kyrie in his face to tie with about 12 seconds left

I watched most of the second and third quarters and definitely would not have shut it off if I knew it was going to go to double OT. I know those are just highlights but they remind me of a 6'6" player from UNC.

I really don't like running your Center out 30 feet from the basket to double Irving. Especially when he's a lumbering, slow center. Kyrie goes the other direction and there's no big guy in the paint to block or alter his shot. Don't like it. Run someone else on the double team, and keep your center in the paint. Am I missing something?

Yeah that made little sense. Regardless it was a great play by irving. That highlight reel missed on some of the key assists mcw dished to keep them in the game as well. I hope that the sixers just let this play out. Mcw playing this way is going to attract players to come there. Unlike iverson he is a true pg and guys can see how he looks for teammates. Then like a true leader and star he looks to takeover when the game is on the line. He has the it factor and that fearless element. Incredible to watch honestly.

The Big O???? Great Company.

When I lived in the Queen City I made it a habit to rub the basketball in his hands when I passed his bronze likeness out of respect for that amazing guard I saw in black and white reels.

Oscar is one of the few players from that era who would be able to play today.

Bro I can't tell you how many inappropriate pictures of drunk females are taken with this statute haha.

For some reason, Hawes thinks he's a 2G this season. I don't get it either. Shades of Elvir Ovcina.

I wish the NBA highlights would have the commentary instead of that guy recapping.

With the chemistry that both MCW and Turner are having with the early success of the team, it'll be interesting to see if the 76ers are still going to get rid of Turner by the trade deadline or will they have 2nd thoughts and work out an extension? What you guys n gals think they should do?

Turner stays. Hawes and Thad go.

Trade him. His value is peaking as well as he's playing. They are starting over, no need to end up overpaying Turner or losing him for nothing. Overpaying good(not great) players like Iguodala and Holiday is what got them stuck in that middle of pack in the first place. With him playing well, they might be able to get a draft pick of value for him, which given their plan is more valuable long term.

Pay him! He is young and growing plus it would be a horrible sign to the fan base!

All good points above. I think I'm leaning more towards giving Turner that extension and looking to get rid of Hawes and Young like dubs said. I worry getting rid of Turner would put too much on MCW's shoulder at this early of a stage. I think the MCW/Turner combo can be really strong for years. It's all about drafting good players and signing the right free agents to surround them moving forward.

Is it me or does Hawes look like a 40 year old running down the floor?

I think too Turner and MCW would give them the foundation for a lengthy backcourt, which can help establish a defensive identity for years to come.
