Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: UNC Leap Sets Up 1 Vs. 2 Showdown

North Carolina leaps up to No. 2 in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll for Week 9, setting up another 1 vs. 2 showdown.

Notre Dame remains No. 1 after a midweek win vs. Marquette, and the teams meet at 4 p.m. Saturday on ESPNU.

Maryland — which beat UNC earlier in the season — remains at No. 3 after a Sunday night win at Rutgers. Syracuse falls to No. 4, Denver remains at No. 5.

USILA DI Coaches' Poll: UNC Up to No. 2

North Carolina is now No. 2 in both major polls, taking the second spot in the USILA DI Coaches' Poll in addition to Monday morning's Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.

The Tar Heels are followed by Maryland, which is the only team to hand them a loss. Syracuse and Denver follow in the top five.

Nike/LM Rankings: Another No. 1 vs. No. 2 Matchup (LaxMag)
