'Melo expected to attend Midnight Madness

Could this be something the administration could make happen yearly? I think if the admins gave NBA alumni preferential treatment by paying for expenses (to make them feel like royalty), they could convince many to return periodically. That would be a huge draw to the program and help keep it alive well beyond the JB years.

I doubt it. You've got to remember the NBA players would normally be in training camps right now.

He joins Jonny Flynn, Wes Johnson, Derrick Coleman, Billy Owens, John Wallace, Rosie Bouie and Hakim Warrick. I hope that whoever is putting the schedule together has a little bit more men's basketball content in the form of a scrimmage. Waiting 2 hours for 10 minutes just ain't cutting it with me.

FYI I have a few extra tickets, let me know if you'd like some.

Story & Video
If these are electronic tickets i'd like 3 if you have that many left,
Thanks a ton!

Carmelo in an ESPN SportsNation chat right now, so I asked him if he's coming to Midnight Madness.

His response:

I don't know! I haven't made a decision yet what I'm going to do with that.

Maybe he's keeping it under wraps, or maybe he just won't commit in case something comes up.
