Seriously. My memory sucks, but i remember Denver making the playoffs a couple of times with Mutombo in the early-mid 90s—sorta 'lucking' into some wins—before Carmelo... but with Carmelo, they were a fixture. That's accurate, right?

How many other All Stars did Carmelo play with in Denver? Billups didn't reach that level until late(r), right?

Funny thing is, one of those mediocre mid 90s Denver teams beat George Karl’s best Seattle team in the first round. 8 seed over 1 seed, lol.

Chauncey was an all star prior to Denver when he was a Piston, and was still an all star in Denver. They made the conference finals and lost in 6 to the Lakers though, so they had a great year.

However, still blows my mind that a former NBA coach, a senior citizen, is trolling like this - trolling like a random message board poster.

If there was any doubt who was more professional / unprofessional in the dispute between the two, this provides a strong lean on which side it was.

Yeah it's just odd. He has always been a lower rated defensive player but he is not alone amongst offensive minded guys. Karl is just trying to stir people up. Frankly it's pathetic and weird.

Not to mention him then congratulating McGee on his gold medal and 3 titles as if you would ever compare those two players.. while throwing shade at Melo as to McGee being a better teammate.

Absolutely nothing against McGee- but he is a bench player throughout his career and essentially sat next to Grant on the Bench for most of the Olympics...

Yeah, and talking about a player’s weaknesses in a normal way and at a normal time is fine...but Melo was one of the best players in the league, and it’s just weird as hell to take a shot at him there. It’s weird enough that internet trolls and calculator geek b-ball fans focus on his weaknesses so much...let alone his former coach. Any of these clowns lament Dwyane Wade being a 17% shooter from 3 back then? Oh, that’s right he had Shaq and Riley and won a championship, so nobody cares about his weaknesses. Everybody needs help.

Denver never really had the roster to win it all. They did what they were supposed to do. Melo was hardly the “problem”, he was the reason they were any good.
