Melo to the Lakers

Melo was sure up and down the last two games when you look at the box scores. Last night he was stone cold, but the game before he was red hot. Both were wins.
He did a lot of non scoring things last night…rebounding and D

Also his 1 three was a monster. I think they were down 9 and he cut it to 6. They were about to get knocked out when he hit. Box score is deceptive

It's amazing how this "second act" for Melo has changed the media and casual fan perception of him. Him making the decision to play in more of a complimentary fashion has helped him to maximize his still formidable offensive skill, and greatly boost his efficiency. Kudos to him for adopting that mindset, and proving his detractors wrong.

Great to see him excelling.

He’s playing really good basketball even when shots are not falling.

Speaking of not falling, WTH happened to Westbrook’s jump shot? It’s always been rough but holy cow

Kind of amazing, hearing the Staples crowd chanting his name.
He's shooting a fantastic percentage from three. I think someone said he has the third highest percentage in the NBA? Out of the top 50 scorers, he has the highest, at 50%. That's nuts. I'm gonna ghostcredit Lebron for some of this. Carmelo must have worked in the offseason to raise his standard, knowing who he was going to be paired with.

Dwyane Wade's prolly doing some pushups, wondering if he can get a contract.

He's had a few less than efficient scoring games, but that's the nature of the sport, especially if you're shooting threes at high volume. He's playing very well and has far exceeded anyone's expectations to this point, including probably his own.

I mean he’s shooting 50 percent from 3…

It's crazy, and it's not like he's only taking one or two a game.

He’s now Olympics Melo, only he gets to do it in the NBA coming off the bench.

When he’s ‘only’ the 3rd or 4th scoring option that opponents have to worry about, he’s absolutely lethal.

As he’s showing this season, he can hit 3’s like he’s playing Pop-A-Shot when he’s not draped by the other team’s top defender(s).

Free agent. Almost ended up with Boston but they decided on Blake Griffin over Melo.

Odd choice. Griffin has fallen off a cliff where as Melo is still a bucket off the bench.
I think Boston was looking for bigs because of Robert Williams injury. Griffin satisfies that requirement more than Melo.

He was at the Bills/Ravens game on Sunday. Imagine he was rooting for the bad guys though.
