Melo wrote a book...

Honestly, Melo has had a sunsetting to his career that I would have never guessed in a million years. From accepting his bench role, to being in tip top shape, to him being a great teammate (not that he was a bad teammate), to winning the KAJ award, to writing a book, etc...

After the OKC/Houston time, I was real worried about how things would end. Happy for him. Hope he gets a chip before he retires.

I love how so many of our former big-time players and personalities are front and center trying to do things at the local and national levels. The list of those making a difference and giving back continues to grow.

The peppermint villager has MELLOed since the NCAA championship thinking less about himself and more about others. Take note young players.

I finished reading Melo's book. I had a hard time putting it down. It is a heart-felt story about a kid who survived some scary life situations, racism, and some sorrow. He covers how he felt and how he dealt with those feelings--from a youngster through school years and on to a national championship. After reading the book, it is very obvious why he still ventures back to Baltimore. You don't have to be a crazed Syracuse fan or crazed basketball fanatic like me to enjoy this read; it is not really a basketball book. I highly recommend it.
