Crew Competes at Navy Day Regatta
"A" boat finishes in third place

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Syracuse men's rowing team continued its fall season on Saturday at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. The squad recorded a third-place finish in the open eight event.

Syracuse sent three boats down for its second race of the 2014 fall season. The "A" boat finished in third place in a time of 12:25.92. Penn's "A" boat won the race in a time of 12:11.81, while Navy finished in second place with a near identical time.

The Orange "B" boat placed sixth, covering the course in 12:45.17. The "C" boat registered a 13th-place finish out of 26 total boats, finishing in 13:18.34.

The "A" boat was coxed by senior Christian Mund and consisted of sophomore Kyle McKenney (stroke), Andrew Reichard (7), junior Aleks Staprans (6), senior Cameron Bierwith (5), junior Ryan McCarry (4), senior Doughlas Wetzel (3), senior Patrick O'Shaugnessy-Hunter (2), and sophomore Joshua Hockenberry (bow).

The "B" boat was made up of sophomore Molly Kollman (coxswain), senior John Delaney (stroke), senior Mike Tobin (7), sophomore Alexander Will (6), senior Stephen Thomas (5), sophomore James Eisenberg (4), senior Andrew Festa (3), junior Tom Johnson III (2), and junior David Conroy (bow).

The "C" boat was coxed by freshman Lydia Whitehead and consisted of sophomore Jackson Avery (stroke), senior Chris Nedlik (7), senior Stephen Hoskins (6), freshman Ethan Pasucci (5), sophomore Daniel Rowbotham (4), freshman Mike Glaude (3), junior Andrew Bateman (2), and sophomore Nick Walker (bow).

SU is back on the water on Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J.
 
Crew people are nuts. My daughter rows at Geneseo. On the lake by 6:00 AM everyday. In the gym in the offseason at 5:30 every morning. And she is not on scholarship.
