Long wait but worth it. I had thanked JAB for his help with cancer. I had mentioned how we lost a friend "griffin" who was 7 to cancer. JAB says that is a sad story. He knew he was from Cicero and knew he was a big hockey fan. Told me cancer is viscous and just to keep supporting the family. It shows that JAB pays attention to the community. That was a great moment.

There's a lot to like about JB as a person. From his long-tenure at his alma mater (not going for the NBA cash) to his defense of his players ("Without Gerry Mac we don't win ten games!"
Through the years he has become more comfortable in his own skin and less willing to play the insipid games the nitwits in the press wants to play. Good for him, I say.
He remains a very competitive person committed to winning every game. But at the same time, he seems more than willing to help any causes that he feels he can help with.
