Hate to see this is going to be VanVleet and Baker's last game. Those two have had solid college careers.
He had an ankle injury and he sat a few games at the start of the year. WS wasn't the same without him but he turned it on late in the year.Yeah, VanFleet has been fairly impressive, earlier in the season i watched him and thought he was underwhelming compared to some of the fawning you hear over him. I thought he looked good in these past few games though.
That slow start killed them. They'll be kicking themselves for that for a bit.
Rodriguez dominated Van Vleet. That was the ballgame in a nutshell. I am sure Wichita State was fatigued but Miami made shots all game long. Miami was sloppy with the ball and Wichita made them pay on those.
Damn. Wich. really got jobbed with their draw.
Amazed I still have that power. Once I make a statement, the opposite happens, almost on cue. I realize then Bud Polequin has my dreamjob. He's been terrible thus far, IMO
Huh? How so?
They almost didn't get in, period.
Yer not getting a "friendly draw" as an 11-seed.
Probably Chris Webber, he's horrible.Anyone know who was that idiot announcer who kept saying Miami wanted to force the officials to make tough calls. Every intelligent coach I've ever encountered concentrates on what he has control over - his players, and his strategy. And no intelligent coach wants to "force officials to make calls," especially tough ones, because you have no control over what they'll call. Good grief, that guy was annoying, trying too hard to think of something different to say, regardless of whether it made any sense.
Probably Chris Webber, he's horrible.
It could have been worse. They could have had to play MTSU in the second round. Which, from some of what I've read here today, is a nightmare.Potentially five games vs. top 25 kenpom/sagarin teams to reach the F4 is pretty ridiculous...I realize they crushed the first two so of course people will say or have already said those teams weren't any good...that's circular logic and all the smart metrics say otherwise. And they get the late Thurs/early Sat. turnaround to boot.
I'd consider Michigan's draw prettty darn friendly for an #11 play-in team. Tulsa stinks, and ND is about an 11 themselves; no accident they're a PK vs. a #14s (who admittedly shouldn't be a 14).
