Mich loss to App St. in 2007 - half of team stoned

According to this source, the 2007 spring and summer was one big party for the Michigan football team, with very little participation in voluntary off-season workouts, a big change from the prior season when nearly the entire team worked out together and stayed away from the summer party scene.

“Mike Hart tried to be a leader, but a lot of guys disliked him and resented him behind his back."

At least there was one guy on that team who took it seriously.

I am sure that has happened a ton over the years, have to remember they are 19-22 year old knuckleheads. Still a loss and bad loss

Nor surprised, the guy ratting everyone out should shut his ing mouth though, there is a code here. One thing to tell a few buddies a few years later another to go this route, douche bag

Funny I never saw any Michigan players laughing on the sidelines.

So should we hope USC takes the same approach? Is Todd Marinovich still there?

Completely disagree. The people who smoked are DBags and placed their teammates in harms way and set them up for ridicule for the entire fanbase, and nation. Coaches clearly need some blame but at some point players need to police and take responsibility for their actions. My only complaint about the kid ratting everyone out is that he should have done it while playing or to the AD but knowing he was a freshmen would probably be asking alot.

College kids can be pretty dumb.

College jocks can be even dumber.

Not surprising, and not scandal-worthy in the least. But I'm sure it will be a big story where phony media will gasp and talk about what a travesty it is, hypocrites will come out of the woodwork telling us how bad the Michigan football program is, opposing fans will be high-and-mighty and mock them, blah blah blah.

Agree to disagree, like I said happens quite a bit.

I agree it happens alot and it's really a non-story but my point is I don't have a problem with the guy ratting out others.
In college we had a pitcher who brought a six pack of Natty Ice (he was already 6 deep before the game) in the dugout and drank during the game. We were getting smoked and the coach had him pitch. Let's just say his ERA was and still is infinity (gave up 9 runs and got no outs and got kicked out of school a week later) and was the record holder for highest college ERA ever last time I checked.

That sounds like an example of the coach taking care of it.

Funny, the story specifically said Ohio guys and I know this "kid" (he's now another 18 year old baby daddy) and in recent discussions on the marijuana legalization ballot in Colorado coming up, he let it be know to me that he burned before practice and so did much of his teammates since 8th grade.

BUT, given that this is some blogger who has "credibility issues" and is obviously from his other garbage a Michigan fan, I am going to go ahead and claim this was some dude named Ace's sour grapes. If 9/22 starters were high then Michigan can boo hoo that and think they WOULD have beat them but for THC and lost focus that they lost to a FCS team. (or were they still 1AA then?)

Not sure this is accurate... I mean, a good high off weed lasts maybe 2-3 hours.. so they would have had to smoke after warmups and without the coaching staff knowing.. not possible. Likely scenario is that they smoked prior to arriving for the game and were just too mellowed out to play..
