Michigan State with a nickname change

This feels like a tipping point to me.

Stadiums. ok. Floors. Ok. Hello logos on the uniform. Fine. But this feels the tipping point.

I may be wrong

You’re not wrong. At least coaches selling their souls is discreet.

This is real.
Holy you know what. If I were an athlete I want to be paid like an employer now.

Again, as a fan, I wouldn't enjoy it, but removing my bias, any player should use the school any way he sees fit that is within his rights.

If you want to quit 20 games into a season, so be it.

This is all a ruse. Let's all accept this is a situation where high profile players and these institutions use each other and just be ok with it.

Want to do a cash grab and do a deal with Rocket Mortgage, go for it. Honestly, why not?

Want to stop attending Geology 105 so you can go train full time for the draft, go for it.

Who cares.

Until there is some real way that the players get paid in all of this, and I mean real money in their bank accounts, let's just be fine with everyone being in an arranged marriage for the highest profile players.

I have instructed every person in my life to punch me in the face, hard, if they ever catch me saying the corporate sponsor of a team name. Because this is just the beginning.
This punch in the face brought to you by Hawaiian Punch!

Maybe the Michigan State radio crew. But no national or regional TV telecast is going to mention it. Not because of ethics, because the networks they work for wouldn't get a cent from it. And it will likely conflict with other sponsorship deals.
Exactly this is a nothing issue that surfaced with a poorly worded release.
