What four teams do you think will make the college football playoff?

Mine: Florida State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Alabama

Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon, Ole Miss

First Team Out: Oklahoma
Second Team Out: Mississippi State (if they win the Egg Bowl, then flip them).

If each Power 5 has an undefeated team or a 1 loss team, then I will be shocked if a conference gets 2 teams in. I think the human element will prevent it.

Baylor, Miss St., FSU, Michigan State

I just can't see a B1G team making it because none of those teams will have enough quality wins.

1. SEC West winner
2.Florida State
3. 2nd SEC team
4. Oklahoma

Baylor will lose @Oklahoma and I think Sooners winning out with TCU losing at WVU.
PAC-12 will keep beating everyone up.

I'm assuming FSU stubs their toe and falls enough so that two, 1-loss SEC teams make it in over them.

I think only 1 SEC teams would be an upset. An upset I am rooting for, no doubt.

Edit: my picks.

FSU: I think FSU wins out
Oregon: ditto
Mississippi/MS St (sorry - winner gets in)
Oklahoma

Miss St. Fla St. Mich St. and Baylor are my four. With a championship of Baylor VS Mississippi St.

a 2 loss team or worse will win the SEC, the B10, the Pac 12, and the ACC.. would they take the 1 loss/undefeated divison winner over the 2-3 loss champions?

Well duh, the idea is that you have to pick who that will be. :)
I honestly think that race is wide open. I think 2 of the 4 playoff teams will come from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama and then the other 2 teams I said Florida State and Oklahoma.

FSU
Ole Miss
Oregon
1 Wildcard between big 12 champion ,ND and 2nd Sec

Alabama probably has the easiest schedule remaining of all the SEC West programs. I wanted to pick Georgia, but they would be coming off a lose to Bama.

ND upsets FSU this weekend and runs the table.

Oregon gets healthy and rolls.

Tough call between Oklahoma and TCU, and wanted to go with TCU, but i see them slipping up at Texas, or Kansas St.

This is going to be fun.

What about ECU as a dark horse? Long shot IMO but undefeated and beat up North Carolina and UNC went to the end with notre dame. Can't hurt to look at them but my picks are Baylor, Florida State, ole miss (one sec team) Oregon

ECU lost to South Carolina so it will never happen. Only undefeated non P5 is Marshall, which will also never happen.

It's really a shame how badly this playoff has devalued the regular season.

I disagree. Everyone thought Bama vs OU was a no brainer last year and it was but not the way the "experts" thought. The playoff gives teams a chance to prove it on the field and not by networks pumping up the agenda.

This should be a very interesting final 4. ND vs FSU and Mississippi St vs Mississippi give it a playoff feel because the loser will probably be knocked out unless other dominoes fall. The Big 12 playing a true round robin could easily have the Big 12 champ with at least one loss. OSU vs Michigan St is huge. God only knows what is going to go on with the PAC 12.

What does Marshall have to be ranked to ruin this whole thing? Of all the years for them not to play WV.

Try again.

:)

Not kidding about Marshall unless this is 100% up to the committee. What are the rules regarding this?

think it's even better now unlike hoops were reg season is meaningless... We're gonna have 8-10 teams vying for 4 spots last few weeks... Games with be intense and highly contested

The regular season is not devalued. In the old system 1 loss pretty much killed your chances to be in the top 2 unless you played in the SEC. Now teams like Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan State all capable of making the top 4 if they have good wins and 1 lose doesn't kill your season.
Also the playoff committee will actually look at your schedule and see who you have played and beaten.
