When attendance tanks, there will be all kinds of talk about how spoiled us fans are and how they're front runners

When really people have been incredibly supportive, leading the country in attendance with a small population and terrible weather for trudging up a hill after work on a weekday

Can't blame anyone for taking a break, it's just that everyone will take their break at the same time. It's not some petulant or permanent problem, it was long overdue

Childhood goes by so fast, really wish my kids had as much fun watching su basketball as me

People voice their opinions with their wallets.

Autry should be happy that he's in a awful ACC. If we were in the SEC or B1G I feel like we'd only get 2-5 wins in conference.

As a father of two sons (2 and 4 years old) that last sentence resonates so much and honestly makes me sad that they won’t have the experiences with SU basketball that I did as a kid.

I could see Red saying "it's a shame people aren't coming out to support these young men, they're giving everything" type of response to a question but I can't see him attacking the fans. There is someone else that I could see doing it though, we'll see. But yeah, it's going to be an issue.

I don't blame anyone either. I've been through the Bills playoff drought and SU football's down years. I figured I could handle this. It's not even fun to watch the games on tv, let alone those who make the effort to go in person. I still watch, but it feels like more out of obligation than anything. Sports are supposed to be fun.

I wouldn’t be too concerned yet. They’re not old enough yet to even appreciate or remember this apocalypse. Mine are tweens and I’m pretty much out of time.

It’s amazing what a few bad years of Syracuse basketball does to me. In similar fashion, It took a good decade of complete poop for me to really just not care about the jets unless it’s truly worthwhile. I guess that’s part of growing up and having more going on in life too but yeah.

A few is being very generous. We haven’t had a good regular season since 2014. This is year 11 masked with a miracle Final Four and a couple luck Sweet 16’s.

And the people who religiously planned their days around watching Cuse on TV all of sudden won’t mind not watching - a complete afterthought. The deterioration of support will be crazy
As I said in another thread, I've stopped watching games live. I'll check the results and only watch if they've won - it's really helped keep my blood pressure in check. This season, so far, I've at a lot more extra time to do other things.

I still can’t not watch :-/. Red has broken me on other ways but it will take a lot for me not to watch.

I switched to football after we came out in the 2nd half and looked just as bad as the 1st.

It's gonna be a rough ride from here on out this year for the team, the fans, and the school.

Hopefully we rip the band aid off and don't run this back next year...

Fans boycotting the games is needed however, otherwise, they prolly will run it back...

Once the gameday till on concessions craters because no one is there, the bean counters will get the wheels turning at the BOT level.

Yesterday was hard to watch. The early turnovers were atrocious. They were JV type turnovers. No regard to taking care of the ball. They were pass and hope passes Lampkin and Choppa’s turnovers were benchable turnovers. Totally unacceptable at any level of basketball. This is a very weak minded team. They lose all kinds of focus if they deal with any kind of adversity. This team is not physically or mentally tough.

Exactly. I don’t think Red even knows what the “Orange Standard” he talks about is anymore. Remember the days when we speculated on what seed we would get and what region/sites we would play in? Those were the days.
