Mighty LSU

This is my issue with the SEC. Best league (usually) year in/year out. No debate there.

However, it's pretty much been Bama and everyone else since Tebow graduated. They rarely have good QB's in that league. Rarely have good offenses. Everyone gets hyped by the names, the stadiums and the fanbases, but take all that away and the SEC is very similar to the other leagues. A dominant team or two, a 2nd tier of Top 10-30 teams, and then wild mediocrity with a few basement dwellers.

That LSU Offense is brutal. Would Joe Burrow even make our two deep next year?... Nevermind this year.

Don't get the appeal of SEC football. If you live there and that's your religion, whatever. But for a casual football fan? It's not like watching a pitcher's duel in baseball. It's just awful in terms of entertainment value.
I just trashed the SEC, but i'll defend them here.. Outside of Bama games, the SEC games are awesome. That 330 slot rarely disappoints.

I see them bringing in a new OC to work under "$100 Handshake" Ed Orgeron. The guy walks on water in the Bayou, they will get him some help to steer the offensive ship

I don't get the exalted status that LSU gets nationally. They can never score and always seem to have impact guys entering the NFL. They have never been a dominant program.

if we had a miracle happen and got to 5th with LSU ahead of us then we would really be pissed.

its all the deep south has ever had to hang their hat for the general public. there are some fine academic institutions in the south vandy, ga tech, emory, florida georgia to name a few large ones. as we all know, its all about football down there. it is an event bigger than anything else including religion, final 4, family ties if they happen to differ, etc . it is ingrained in the culture. the closest thing up north to it is penn state. however the south's perspective is healthier than psu's.

The SEC has actually loosened up the past 5-7 years and its the spread offenses that have done it. The Bama D got carved up for a few years by JM and A&M also auburn. Saban got smoked by the tempo RPO offenses for a few years and then adjusted by understanding he couldnt win 10-9 rock fights and needed a qb. Its interesting to see Bama have to make adjustments and tje CFB landscape has in a HUGE way.

When team’s like ‘Bama put a high powered O with those stalwart SEC D’s, oooh baby...

When Teams like LSU figure out that you can spread the field with your all-world talent, games like Saturday become a lot more interesting.

I am deeply confused as to why the old Pitt coach who hung 70 something on us didn’t work out there. Was there too much chance to score or what. He is at Maryland now but his offense sings. Great oc. What the hell happened there

Think they were idiots to let Canada leave and go to Maryland. Needed to give him some time. My opinion of him may or may not be entirely based on him running a Nathan Peterman led offense to 1000 points against us.

Rumors were that he just didn't get along with Coach O. I think they would have looked a lot better this year on offense had he still been there. I have no idea how LSU seems to miss on so many QBs for so many years. They continue to get 4/5 star guys but they all end up mediocre. Either they have terrible luck or they just dont have the right people calling plays.

Auburn won it all the year after Tebow graduated, and almost won it again in 2013 if it wasn't for a legendary drive by Jameis. Georgia was an eyelash from a national title last year.

They can't recruit at quarterback. Doesn't matter who your OC is if you don't have anyone under center that can throw.

For a few years now I don't think they have been the clear cut best league. Alabama helps everyone elses perception at this point.

I dunno. Look at early season (not bowl games that are a letdown for all but nc). Auburn beats Washington. LSU rolls Miami. Ole miss beats Texas tech. A&M lost to Clemson by 2. Msu whipped Kansas st. Candy lost to nd by 5. Mizzou beat Purdue. What else should they do? That’s not bama and uga. That’s mostly mid/lower tier teams in conference.

Another piece of conference supremacy is your Championship Game. The SEC Championship Game actually has two contenders in it now. UGA looks to be here for the long run.

The ACC has a really good Atlantic Division, and this year they'll play... Pitt? That's awful for perception.
