Mighty LSU

gonna be worse if NW/Pitt win thier conf games and Mich/Clem dont play in a new years 6 game because of it.

Another piece of conference supremacy is your Championship Game. The SEC Championship Game actually has two contenders in it now. UGA looks to be here for the long run.

The ACC has a really good Atlantic Division, and this year they'll play... Pitt? That's awful for perception.

This should be a point of importance for the ACC that the divisions need realignment for balance. The Coastal has always been stacked.

I dunno. Look at early season (not bowl games that are a letdown for all but nc). Auburn beats Washington. LSU rolls Miami. Ole miss beats Texas tech. A&M lost to Clemson by 2. Msu whipped Kansas st. Candy lost to nd by 5. Mizzou beat Purdue. What else should they do? That’s not bama and uga. That’s mostly mid/lower tier teams in conference.
First, I said the last few years. With FSU and Clemson winning NC's and other ACC teams doing well, I would say the SEC has dropped back to the pack the last 5 years. Until Georgia last year the east was not that good and the West has been 3ish deep with good teams in any given season.

With regards to this year, teams and their perceptions change throughout the year. Clemson is lightyears better than the team A&M hung with. Miami doesn't look like that great of a win at this point. Auburn started strong but has fizzled. Beating a six loss Kansas St. team is hardly worth mentioning. A number of other wins are ok. I'm not saying they're a bad conference, just that it hasn't been a clear runaway like it was 10 years ago.

The ACC and SEC should have a "challenge" each September where they play 14 on 14. based on last year's standings or rankings. if you use Sagarin, for example, this is what it would have looked like this year:
NCAAF Sagarin - NCAAF Football - USA TODAY

Alabama vs. Clemson
Georgia vs. U of Miami
Auburn vs. Virginia Tech
Mississippi State vs. North Carolina State
Louisiana State vs. Louisville
South Carolina vs. Florida State
Texas A&M vs. Wake Forest
Missouri vs. Boston College
Mississippi vs. Duke
Kentucky vs. Georgia Tech
Florida vs. Pittsburgh
Arkansas vs. North Carolina
Vanderbilt vs. Syracuse
Tennessee vs. Virginia

Based on this year's Sagarin rankings, the winners would have been:
College Football Ratings Page

SEC- Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, Louisiana State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas

ACC- Duke, Syracuse, Virginia
