Honestly I like to stay positive but I have to agree with many of the posters above ML doesn't like Syracuse sports just engenders a negative attitude, hes a Yankees guy that's his specialty which is fine but its not really the focus around Syracuse. I'm a little surprised 1260 is taking him back after he left them minus a host right after they invested in him and promoted him to the afternoon slot. weak.

Well he has a pretty impressive resume. He's won "Most Punchable Face" seven years running.

does anyone actually still listen to 1260? I listened religiously with Danny Parkins at noon...then Axe at 3. But once Dan left for KC, it was downhill from there.

Isn't radio a lot different than most mainstream jobs. It seems like many guys just recycle over and over again. At least it seemed that way back in the day when they had real disc jockeys. I'm surprised that he got a job this quickly and back in Syracuse but I guess the ratings number for local sports talk radio (unless you are WFAN) is so small that they really don't care who the host is.

Lindsley is one of the more unlikeable sports talk radio personalities I've heard. I defy anyone to listen to three straight hours of this guy and come out alive.

To his credit, though, he makes me nostalgic for Axeman era, something I didn't think possible.

Man, I'm not saying that you need to be an advocate for the city you host a show in but the hyperbolic negativity really gets to me.

At least it's a local show. They advertise themselves as "The Voice of the Central New York Sports Fan". Rome and Gottlieb are not the Voice of the Central New York Sports fan. I'd rather have the Axeman back, Jason Benettii or Jimmer Morgan but it will be nice to have a local show in the afternoon again

I'm biased against journalism school and I'm assuming that all the guys who come and go have the certifications and are real media types. I don't think you need to get a journalism degree to read write or talk. All the best people who get into journalism would be just as good at it if they had majored in something else. Would Syracuse talk radio be better if they started by looking for a local with passion rather than looking for a guy with the right certification?

He had a cup of coffee with 104.5 THE TEAM in Albany. Then something called fake Shane Spencer happened.

He was fired because someone called into his show in Albany and "pretended" to be former Yankees outfielder Shane Spencer. And Lindsley was too stupid to pick up on it. So, when he gets back on the air in Syracuse...everyone here call in and when the screener asks for your name... give a name of a former athlete! Nobody famous like Michael Jordan or Lebron James. Pick some obscure athlete (ala Shane Spencer)
