Mike Tirico on Syracuse’s future: ‘I think we have a place’

I would hope these facts would matter.- Football Hall of Fame

Freeney joins Jim Brown, Larry Csonka, Al Davis, Marvin Harrison, Floyd Little, John Mackey, Art Monk and Jim Ringo as Orange alums in the Hall of Fame. Syracuse's nine members gives the sixth-most members of any school, and also is third in the ACC behind Miami (10) and Pittsburgh (10). Marvin Harrison will probably soon be #10, tying us with MIami and Pitt.

Funny how the 3 leading universities with the most players in the Hall of Fame from the ACC, none are original members but former BIG East football members.

Things like this make us a brand who casual fans tune in to see, when we are playing well. Fran was around at the time that P&D had returned us to national prominence. Fran knows it can be done if we build the connections to HS programs in the northeast like they did. And it seems like he is razor focused on doing that.

And this staff didn't just come together as fast as they did, without having a plan.
These coaches have been elsewhere, and know what they are getting into.
Dino was a nice guy but had non contacts in the Northeast or South.
A West Coast guy trying to coach and recruit here was a bad idea.
