He could have been such a great collegiate QB. Definitely needed to improve his arm strength a bit, but who wouldn't after being out of the sport and S and C for 4 years. He was so smart and accurate, with underrated mobility. What he accomplished over the course of his collegiate career is pretty special. Great kid to boot.

the last time we had 2 games in a row with qb ratings over 170 against BCS teams was when paulus did it to close the year out.

prior to rutgers, his BCS qb rating was 115. those last two games brought him up to a little more respectable 126

gotta wonder what the point was though. develop a one year guy just in time for him to put it together in meaningless games before leaving

What was his QBR for the USF game? That has to rank as one of the worst QB performances at SU. It would have been nice to have had him as QB for 3+ years, though.

Point was to save Ryan Nassib and not turn him into the Syracuse version of David Carr after his first year with the Texans.

I don't think there was necessarily a point (other than giving Nassib more time in the oven). At some point in the season, Marrone realized that his Rob Spence hire was a terrible idea. After game 10, he just couldn't let it go on any longer.
