Mike Woodson

Curious to hear from people with knowledge how big a role Woodson played in the development of Hood-Schifino and Kel-El Ware, who were highly-recruited out of HS and largely came to IU for the money. Not sure how much credit he should get for TJD either since he was only there for his senior season and he only improved but so much, though obviously enough to get drafted.

From a philosophy/roster construction standpoint, his style is out of touch with how basketball is played in 2025. And some credible voices in the media have posited that he didn't really work that hard and that it's fair to wonder if he was given the job out of a duty to IU's big-money donors more than Woodson actually wanted it.

Maybe the Kiyan angle would get him to be more invested, but I struggle to see the upside.

I don't think Woody is the answer either but I did like him when he coached the Knicks.

you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think he’s a better coach than Red
Literally 95% of D1 coaches are better than Red. This is not a high bar to jump over. It’s also not a reason to hire someone to replace Red.
