Well, outside of forcing turnovers, the D has also been mostly horrible.

No, they definitely haven't been great, but they are 40-25 over the past 5 years versus our 27-34 record over that same period.

the ten win season was because of turnovers but in the long run, yards per play matters and we are just never any good on either side in that stat

What I have found troubling is the pace that we played with made up for the yards per play because we had more of them.
Now our offense is in quicksand and can barely get a first down. It has to be the worst in the country yards per play.

I would trade half those turnovers for better tackling.

There were a lot of things, not just turnovers, contributing to the 10 wins that we haven't been able to replicate. If it was just the turnovers, we'd be 3-1 right now.
We have forced more turnovers than Alabama the past few years. Let that sink in.

They didn't have the years per play on offense or defense of a 10-3 team, iirc they were like a 7-5 team just going by yards pet play
So I looked it up. 4 or more turnovers forced and 0 turnovers at home and losing has only happened 14 times before. Our game vs Iowa was one of them so now we've done that twice. Funny enough Duke has done it twice too.
Now for losing by 2 TDs
Duke lost by 36 to Clemson
Louisiana Monroe lost by 14 to MTSU
Duke lost by 37 to Louisville
Vandy lost by 17 to Florida
So only the 5th time this has ever happened. History!

Great work finding the data. Duke dominated us today on the ground. Every time they dropped back I laughed.
