Starling gets about 30 minutes a night 13 pts a game at 45% clip shooting. Went 0-7 from deep against Sparty last night.Saturday's game will be interesting as both guys are playing the point but are scoring guards. I haven't kept up with Starling and I believe he was ranked higher than Judah.
They have a senior point guard in Trey Wertz. Starling has been slightly worse than Judah overall. He’s really struggling shooting which was supposed to be his strength. Is Starling really playing the point? They have another guard who is averaging almost 5 assists per game. Starling has the lowest number of assists of all their starters (1.0) and actually has more turnovers per game than assists. By comparison, Benny has almost as many assists per game as Starling. Doesn't seem like Starling is facilitating their offense but to be fair, Judah doesn't always get others involved either although he has a lot more assists.
I'm sure he will find his stroke against our zone... we seem to be the best cure for a shooting slump. They have a senior point guard in Trey Wertz. Starling has been slightly worse than Judah overall. He’s really struggling shooting by the ball which was supposed to be his strength.

If they both stick around, and I think they will, they’re gonna get better and better. Both guys have a chance to be really good ACC players and maybe eventually make it into the NBA.Is Starling really playing the point? Are we sure that wasn’t a statement about our drawing power? Not their Super Bowl anymore, to play a struggling SU.I get that Starling may have wanted to go away from home and that Notre Dame is a great academic school but I will never understand why he would want to play there. That arena was basically half full with a dead ass crowd. And it’s not like the students are on vacation. They were coming off a huge win against Michigan State and ESPN could not hide the fact that basically only the lower part of the arena was filled.
Like them both. Completely different styles. Would love to have had them both.
That doesn't matter when your own team draws fans. When SU is good, you don't see empty seats like that for any conference game. Are we sure that wasn’t a statement about our drawing power? Not their Super Bowl anymore, to play a struggling SU.
I don’t know what you’re arguing. We are not good, so you would expect to see empty seats both home and away. Your own team is only part of the equation. That doesn't matter when your own team draws fans. When SU is good, you don't see empty seats like that for any conference game.
I'm arguing it has nothing to do with our drawing power. Your own team should be the vast majority of the equation, as it has been for us over the last 40 years. We haven't led the country in attendance because we only played desirable opponents. When we've been good fans showed up for every game. ND should be able to put nearly 9,000 butts in the seats for every conference game, if their fans cared.I don’t know what you’re arguing. Ehhh it’s basically the same team they had last year with Starling replacing Westry and the lefty guard replacing Hubb. They went 15-5 in the ACC.Watching a "rerun" of the CUSE/ND game it struck me.
What Brey has this year is what Cuse had last year- except with a good PG.
Let's just say speed and athleticism is in short supply. JB did them a favor by playing zone.
