kid was not ready physically or mentally, cost him a year of development. Would have been way better off with Kimble and Wilson as we were not going to bea FSU, Clemson etc. Now that's we are unlikely to make bowl decision is even amplified. Feel bad for long

kind of think they were forced into this.

Didn't have a choice. CTO has no eligibility left.

You would have thrown in the towel on 2014 because you're worried about having Long in 2018?

Pretty sure that Long has developed more in 3 games that he would have running the scout team.

It's never a mistake if you use the kid. I think it's a mistake when you put a kid in for garbage time only.

I don't know about the last sentence. Kid sounds like his confidence is starting to crack. 7 turnovers in 3 1/2 games. He's a good HS QB at this point.

He lost track of a DE who dropped back into pass coverage, and he coughed up a fumble while trying to make something out of nothing.

Sounds like he's got balls of steel.

LOL or a brain to match.

Seriously, he is just a kid and likely to get injured out there, which would be a tragedy. We have no choice, but it would have been better to let him have another spring and summer practice before being thrown to the wolves. The limited playbook they have to use with him is duck soup for ACC DC's.

They were forced into it, but Everyone anointing Long as the second coming was way too soon. Hunt is the best QB on the team. The coaches knew that. He didn't have Lester calling his plays. Can't wait for him to come back. He adds much more to the offense than anyone else on the roster.

That will be good only if Lester has a plan, Hunt really didn't improve his passing game and that limits the plays. I would like to see many more option plays for him not just the zone read. Let him run the triple with Erv who is fast enough to turn the corner - that type of thing.

Whether Long should or should not have played is all moot now. I think the experience he's getting now will be invaluable leading into post-season practice (should we be so blessed) and into spring drills. I think after summer conditioning, he can challenge Hunt for the starting position.

Agreed.
