Consider this as good an outcome as any if you're a Syracuse fan. Jones previously tweeted he would choose between Syracuse and Louisville tonight, and there were several strong signals Louisville was perhaps a bit higher on his list...
Illinois Athlete w/ Syracuse Interest Verbals to Northern Illinois (SBNation; Persky)
...
Northern Illinois presumably likes Miller because of his versatility, and athletic ability to play on either side of the ball. Miller currently plays a dual-threat quarterback and defensive back role in high school, but could even play wide receiver at the college level.
Wide Receivers Coach Thad Ward has been leading Miller's recruitment.
"I run the same exact offense at my high school," Miller explained. "It won't be anything new. They are recruiting me as a quarterback/athlete. I can play quarterback, but if I have to play another position I will."
Miller chose Northern Illinois over an offer from Kansas, but is also receiving interest from Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan, Mississippi State, and Syracuse...

“We share all the revenue and expenses yet we cannot have a balanced, fair, equitable schedule. LSU has played Florida and Georgia 19 times since 2000, and Bama has played them eight times. Is that fair?” JOE ALLEVA, LSU athletic director
This decision could influence the ACC to stay with an 8 game conference schedule and perhaps drive a scheduling agreement between the ACC and the SEC...
Northwestern Captain Says He Believes Team Rejected Unionization Vote (PS; Carlson)
Northwestern football captain Brandon Vitabile told ESPN on Saturday that he does not believe the team voted to unionize when the Wildcats held a team vote on Friday.
"I understand the assumption people make that all student-athletes are mistreated, but the majority of us realize we're not in that group," Vitabile told ESPN. "What me and a lot of our teammates discovered is that the change wouldn't happen here. It would happen on the broad landscape. So why would we sacrifice all the relationships we have here with the staff and the university that we love? A program and university that, as of a team, all of us have been given everything we were promised."
