Daisha Fair...as in our best player, Daisha Fair?Daisha Fair
Starting this now. Last year we said it wasn’t an excuse and then it was when we started to get boat-raced in January.
Nil is supposed to be Blair’s strength. That said from my understanding there’s lots of new donors and I was told this Friday before Gerry was officially announced. I am sure there’s been more movement since. That said lots of schools are facing the same uncertainty.I guess not for Gerry's first year. But I still don't understand how it's sustainable. How many whales do we even have and do they have the appetite to do this year after year?
The grassroots money isn't doing it. I'm not even sure how hard they're trying and that might be because the returns aren't worth the trouble.
And if we do have $12M to spend, how does that compare across the country, not just the ACC (which top to bottom seems like it's the 5th best league these days).
If there's a camp that's motto is "I don't want to give my money to pay players but I really hope other people do", then I'm in that camp.
Then we should have hired a better, more proven coach instead.Unfortunately, everybody is probably going to have a larger pot.
Sure schools will have more money, but I doubt anyone increased the percentage of their funding like we have. Then we should have hired a better, more proven coach instead.
Mods, can we put a sticky at the top of the basketball board that AW never gave us any money? It gets tiring responding to the same thing over and over again.
nothing. and i can't believe people keep saying he donated nothing here. as you know, he supported 6-7 athletes in the one year. 1 fball, 1 wbball and 5-6 mbball. clark was the fball, fair in wbball, who she thanked on social media. not sure who in mbball but i know 1 was judah. and long before nil, su used to send donors a booklet that showed all donors. i remember seeing his company in there in the top 5 i believe. yea, he's never donated anything. He’ll support Gerry at SU. What was in it for him at Siena?
The power conferences – the Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC and Big East – spend between $7 million and $10 million on a roster, on average, according to Opendorse.I guess not for Gerry's first year. But I still don't understand how it's sustainable. How many whales do we even have and do they have the appetite to do this year after year?

I personally think we're hosed either way but the notion that bc the average is going up cuse should have factored in nil less in making hiring decision is not logicalThen we should have hired a better, more proven coach instead.
I would’ve rather had the Lallys win the head coaching sweepstakes because we’d have Bryan Hodgson leading the program. Instead the winners are Jim Boeheim and his BOT minions who would only put their money behind Gmac. It's not like the Lallys have covered themselves in glory over the past few months. Obviously they've donated infinitely more to SU than Weitsman, but they've now established their own special brand of pettiness and greivance.
Just stop with this bs my god move on manI would’ve rather had the Lallys win the head coaching sweepstakes because we’d have Bryan Hodgson leading the program. Instead the winners are Jim Boeheim and his BOT minions who would only put their money behind Gmac.
I’m in the same camp. I freely admit my hypocrisy!I guess not for Gerry's first year. But I still don't understand how it's sustainable. How many whales do we even have and do they have the appetite to do this year after year?
