Monmouth Gameday...

Halftime. We have to rebound better, but this is a good defensive team who can protect the basket,

I really like Kingz and George defensively as our guards, while Anthony kind of plays SF when that perimeter grouping is out there.

We have made a great effort to get the ball inside, and Donnie is punishing them, drawing so many fouls, and wearing guys out. I expect him to hit a couple 3s in the 2nd half, and this is the way to do it, inside out. See the ball go in the bucket and it looks bigger.

Kyle works so hard on defense, but we're seeing a 7 footer give him some trouble. Great effort, though. See, I told. you Soare was a very solid back up center. Nice minutes from him. He reminds me a bit of Baye Keita back there. Great effort.

Sadiq got boned on that call going for the ball. He's going to be our "Freshman Terrance Roberts" this year, meaning, I think he's going to get a lot of ticky tack, silly foul calls against him, and he's a bit on the emotional side. I'll bet that we see him get a couple more T's before the season's over.

JJ with some good minutes. He lost a guy on a screen to give up a three in his first or second defensive possession, and he committed a couple fouls, but that one for just bodying up as the guy brought it upcourt was pretty weak.

We need somebody to make a couple threes in the 2nd half, and keep generating turnovers. Keep getting inside, Donnie, and foul out their bigs, and then we should do better on the boards. I think we will wear them down. Monmouth's effort has been excellent, but they are committing a lot of fouls.

I thought he called George a "passport point guard."
My friend thought he said, "path forward point guard."

Apparently he said, "pass first point guard."

Why is he whispering at times?
Honestly, I have the sound on, but I’m barely paying attention to what they say. I just need to hear something.

And he missed

People miss shots. JJ is playing absolutely the right way to do what's best for us. He's part of the mix, he's a threat on the drive, he draws fouls, he helps run a fast break or break a press. He's a useful part of the team. I like what I"m seeing. No "hero ball" fadeaway threes under pressure.

Never said that. Agree to disagree. If you are fine with last season and the last few years that’s fine. If you are fine with being up 3 against this team at half too. That’s fine. We have different opinions and who should be leading this program. Nothing wrong with that. I just want better for this program
Oh give me a break. No one is fine with mediocrity and we all want to return to the glory days.
