I dont think theres anyone not rooting for the kid but he might be the only player that has regressed over the years and remains a crowd favorite, you would think that was impossible.

He's a favorite like Hawthorne Wingo was a MSG favorite when I was a kid.

He's a crowd favorite because we're usually up by 20+ when he comes in.

He and Scoop have been sharing WAY too many nights out at Wendy's...my lord.

the sad thing is, Mookie came in as a highly rated small forward! I think he was ranked in the 70's nationally overall. The funny thing is, I was looking at his arms last night and saying to myself, man this guy has been there for 4 years and he doesn't look like he's worked out at all. If I was him, I would have been in the weight room daily bulking up and would have found my we into the rotation.

He's been afraid that bulking up would negatively impact his silky smooth jumper and I can't say as though I blame him.

Ha! That's funny! People used to say that when I was in high school if you bulk up that you lose your ability to shoot. I actually found that with proper stretching I became a much better player when I started lifting weights. I was able to muscle up so many more shots and be more physical!

After working out I used to rocket bricks off of or, even over, the backboard. Come to think of it... I used to do that before I started working out as well.

i always root for the mookster to come in and do well. why? i don't know. i like an underdog. and remember mookie could have easily transferred out of here and played starters minutes at a number of schools. he stuck with us and i'll stick with him. free tacos!!!!

I like Mookie because he has the quickest shot and release. He has no fear and will gun that ball towards the hoop from anywhere on the court. His feet are huge like a clowns. He rarely passes the ball and he can hardly dunk. He is like any league player that has never played organized hoops. Thats why i like the mookster
