I was wondering about that...SS had his arm around him and was talking to him on the sidelines when it looked like he was going in.

The whole red shirt thing is very confusing. But I've read in plain print that if you play one play that kills any chance of red shirting. But then I have multiple people in the know that say it's a percentage of plays or games? What gives?

If you suffer a season ending injury during the first half of the season, and you only played in 3 contests or 30% of the games (whichever is greater), you can petition the NCAA to have the year "reclassified" as a redshirt year if you have one available (look under the medical hardship rule for all the details).

If you are uninjured, the year counts.

Smith is scoring like a madman inside the five, hell he's scoring more than Don Draper.

The redzone performance has been 180 from where it was last year. There isn't an essential need for him to play this year. Cleveland and Coker can handle the short yardage FB role, we don't play out of the I so the FB doesn't have a role as a runner in this offense.

I'm all for red shirting players but Moore? We have McFarlane and GMII as well as another year of Moore for depth purposes. That's really a nice set up. No need for an extra year of AAM.

I'm not upset because I think we can use him later, I'm upset because if he wasn't in the plans he could have transferred somewhere with two years to play, even if not at this level. That's off the table now. I don't think we could have done better by the guy is all.

How do you know the staff didn't sit down with him during the offseason and tell him what his role would be going forward, and he still elected to remain at SU.

I don't. My assumption is that if the plan was to play him at all we would have seen him a lot sooner in the season.

Agree. I don't think he's the type of back the staff is looking for. I don't think this is worth anyone getting too upset over.

Moore played. He had 1 catch for 9 yards. And I agree, people should just use AAM.

Why would the team want to keep around our 2nd string FB and our 5th option at RB for another year? They most likely want to free up his scholarship for another player. It stinks to see players that come in with hype and never make much of an impact, but that happens.

What stinks is when 'fans' think they know something when in fact they don't have a clue. If people continue to think because a kid doesn't play, he can't play I don't know what to tell them, other than there are MANY reasons for that to happen and it's too bad..
