More Basketball on the USS Midway?

When CJ Fair hit the 1st 3-pointer, you knew nobody else was making one that day.

SU was 1-4 that day, SD was 1-18.
While they're doing the gimmick anyway, they might as well go back to the rules circa the first Veteran's Day... No three pointers, shot clock or blocks/charges would make for an interesting game.

That was the weirdest game ... in so many ways. Postponed for a day due to rain (even though we've been told "it never rains in Southern California"); played in a serious swirling wind; and I wound up sitting next to Stephen Strasburg (a grad of San Diego State).

I don’t think these games are outside anymore, too dangerous. I think they are played inside, either in a court already in the carrier or one they build inside. That's what I remember reading somewhere.

I'm still mad at my ex wife for not green lighting that trip.
I was there, crazy, awesome experience. We arrived Thursday for a Friday night under the lights game, which was moved to Sunday 11:00 am tip.Friday and Saturday were cold and windy, after 2 days of bar hopping, watching SU football beat the hell out of Louisville and Johnny Manziel upset Alabama while bar hopping,we awoke to beautiful sunny San Diego on Sunday morning.Walking towards the ocean and the Midway,we could hear the Syracuse fight song and were greeted by hundreds of orange wearing, super fans. One of the best pregame “tailgating” of my life.My grandfather had done his marine pilot training for WWII in San Diego so I gave back some of his ashes to the sea, really cool SDS fans, unimaginable venue and sights.I’ll never forget a little boy saying to his dad”dad is that Syracuse’s center,he’s tall……” no son that’s their point guard”….MCW

Hell yea man! Sounds amazing

This was tried twice. As I recall the first game the floor kept getting wet. A real slip fest. Then Syracuse was a wind were nothing but layups went in. Let's just call it a bad idea and move on.

Many of the attempted games on ships had major issues with condensation developing on the court from the sea below,if I remember some were cancelled at halftime.

We got rained out of a round of golf last fall in San Diego

And this is how I met you. I posted looking for tickets after the 1st game was postponed, and you answered me assuring me that you were not someone strange, but someone who would be at the game and that I should be able to find tickets and you would also look for me. The wind is what I remember. That game was so windy.

lol that game we played on there wasn't really even basketball - I think there might have been one shot made beyond like 8 feet
There is almost always a good breeze on the waterfront in San Diego. It’s not as bad as the court I use to shovel snow half the year to play on but close.

Inside the carrier? Is there a ceiling high enough for that?
