This is a very well thought out post.  I agree with a lot of what you say.

But the one part I don't resonate with is the notion that people are "blaming" the players.  There is a big difference between pointing out that the personnel aren't suited for the Tampa 2 and "blaming" them.  I think most posters [even the most critical ones] recognize that:

The issues on defense are multi-dimensional.  It isn't all on the players.  But I reject the notion that we can't even discuss roster limitations without it being labeled as trashing / attacking / blaming the players, that everyone on this team supports as the Syracuse football fanatics that we are.

Not every discussion has to be a kumbaya circle.  And critical analysis isn't necessarily attacking the players.
