I'm only concerned with the Syracuse tourney MVP, not necessarily the overall tourney MVP

  • Ennis: 20 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.0 rpg, .476 from the field and .500 from three, 2 total turnovers, 1 block and 8 steals total
  • Cooney: 19 ppg, 2.5 apg, 1.5 rpg .526 from three and .522 overall (2/4 from 2), 4 total turnovers, 3 total steals
  • Fair: 15 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1 apg, .375 from field, 6 total turnovers, 1 block and 3 steals total
  • Grant: 15.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2 apg, .524 from the field, 1 total turnover
even with the poor shooting in the first game, I think Ennis is the clear leader right now, but one big game from any of the four could put them over the top.

The other 4 guys in the rotation have had their moments, but barring a monumental title game performance are not in the running

Let's go with a three headed Ennis, Cooney, Grant MVP to let the country know we're more than just CJ Fair.

I think think it's that clear. That stinker 1-9 doesn't sit well with me. I'll take the consistency over two games which was Cooney.
He did everything else well in that game, including hitting a boatload of free throws (which still count as points as far as I can tell), so Ennis gets my vote.

I don't think either is a bad selection. I just think it's real close.

I hope Cooney gets it. He's the one who would benefit the most from the recognition. I am not yet convinced Ennis has emotions (at least on the court which is a very good thing!)

A couple things that might have been brought up on other threads but Bilas wasn't really gushing over the Cuse players like maybe he should be. I like Bilas, but i'm not sure I like the two man booth yet. Those stats you have posted above are solid. Which brings me to my next point:

It doesn't seem like there is much love for the Syracuse basketball team yet this season. Maybe I am channeling my inner Boeheim, but that's how it seems to me. Yes, we have struggled somewhat but we are pretty solid. I'm already sick of hearing about the Kentucky's, the Kansas's, the Louisville's, the Duke's, the Arizona's. Let's win this bad boy tonight and then we will have people talking about our own Diaper Dandy, Mr. Tyler Ennis from Syracuse University by way of Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Whoever has the best game tonight will win it. I see Cooney getting it done.
